BAROLO ROCCHE DELL’ANNUNZIATA 2014: 92 points
Blind tasted by Stephen Brook (at Hotel I Castelli, Alba, 17 May 2018).
This estate owns 3.4ha in Rocche dell’Annunziata, a top La Morra site, vinifying and ageing the wine traditionally. The discreet but elegant raspberry nose shows an appealing purity of fruit, while the attack is fresh and understated, with no rough edges and an attractive, seamless texture. There follows plenty of lift and spice, and this shows the finesse you’d hope for from La Morra. Long. Drinking window 2019 – 2032.
