BAROLO ROCCHE DELL’ANNUNZIATA RISERVA 2012: 93
This is holding on nicely now for a 2012 with dried earth, tar, incense and dried fruit. Quite resolved and full-bodied but not in the last drying; indeed, the finish is surprisingly tight and generous in the end. Drink now.
BAROLO ROCCHE DELL’ANNUNZIATA 2015: 91
The garnet red color here is fadinginto browner hues. The nose also smells quite a bit older than a 2015 with tea bags, dried leaves and peppermint tea. Full-bodied and very spicy with brambly tannins and an overlay of dried fruit. Drink from 2022.
A very light and leathery nebbiolo with a fading, garnet color. Frankly, it seems past its best and comes across as very drying on the palate. A touch of fruit almost saves it on the finish. Drink up.
Bright blackberries, raspberries and citrus. Medium-bodied and lightly spicy with a welcome serving of juicy tannins and brambly, spicy undernotes. Drink now.
BAROLO 2014: 89
This pale-colored Barolo delivers five-spice, nutmeg, cedar and cumin. A little light and drying on the palate with a touch of fruit on the finish. Drink now.
